Andover High girls took home a third place trophy last Tuesday, placing well at Andover Centrals tournament at Sierra Hills. This is the second time the girls placed third this year.

“We’ve taken one sixth place and two thirds in multi-team tournaments,” Coach Ryan Harshaw said.

Responsibility is put on three girls, who help the varsity team bring home the wins.

“Our top three consists of Maddie Routhier, Ashley Teinert and Haley Meisch,” Harshaw said. “They are our main players and they’re doing our job by stepping up and help us place.”

No year is the same with Seniors graduating, according to Harshaw the team took a loss.

“A lot of key players were lost but there has been underclassmen who stepped up in time to win, they’re learning quick.” Harshaw said.

The team is preparing for the next tournament Monday at Cheney, as well as the future.

“There’s always room for improvement but I am so far pleased with where we’re at, we have a tournament on the [Sept.] ninth and the girls have been working hard in hopes for a good season.” Harshaw said.
